Transportation Services:  Bus Driver (Texas Preparatory School – Austin)

The Transportation Services Bus Driver; provides safe and efficient transportation services to BGCSCT Club members and Texas Preparatory School students. A successful applicant will have a high school diploma or equivalent, current CDL license with passenger endorsement, clean driving record, and experience operating a school bus. This position works 25 hours per week with occasional field trips, evenings and weekends as needed. This person obeys all State and Federal Traffic regulations and laws, uses effective defensive driving techniques, attends and completes all required training to obtain & maintain safety and driver certification.

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Work closely with the Transportation Director to plan & implement Transportation throughout the Academic Year and summer;
  • Mass-passenger transport;
  • Student Rider behavior management;
  • Basic Vehicle Maintenance;
  • Report necessary vehicle service to the Transportation Director;
  • Ability to adjust to new job responsibilities as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of routes; Ability to interpret schedules, forms and maps;
  • Working with little supervision;

 

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent;
  • Must be able to pass a background check and Fingerprinting;
  • Have a clean driving record (Department of Public Safety);
  • Texas School Bus Drivers Certification or CDL License with Passenger Endorsement.

Youth Development Professional – ROOTS Austin

Youth Development Professional – ROOTS Austin

The Youth Development Professionals role is providing daily programs, services and activities for Program Site club members, which are consistent with the organization’s youth development mission and goals. Youth development Professionals are primarily, but not exclusively, responsible for youth supervision, developing positive, productive relationships with students and overseeing the delivery of a broad range of programs such as Education, Social Recreation, Arts & Crafts, Sports-Fitness & Recreation and Healthy Lifestyles.

  • Plan & implement designated programs and activities that support Youth Development Outcomes for this age-group;
  • Maintain Club program goals that ensure the health and safety of members;
  • Communicates with parents, students, employees and others;

Part-time Custodial Substitute

Part-time Custodial Substitute

This position requires the maintaining of an attractive, sanitary and safe facility for students, staff and public; providing equipment and furniture arrangements for meetings, classroom activities and events; and minimizing property damage, loss and facility structure. Position requires ability to perform multiple, not-technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Operating equipment used in industrial maintenance including electrical cleaning equipment;
  • Knowledge in common cleaning tools and landscaping equipment;
  • Collects and disposes of trash following approved procedures and infection control plans;
  • Dusts and damp mops floors following approved procedures;
  • Cleans assigned areas with the use of assigned materials and equipment. Sanitize all surfaces;
  • Adheres to safety practices;
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Ability to adjust to new job responsibilities & tasks as assigned and work unsupervised; 
  • Work inside and outside;
  • Prolonged standing and walking;
  • Able to lift/move approximately 30 – 50 pounds;

Web Designer

The Web Designer is an independent contractor who will work remotely with the Marketing Operations Team to create and maintain all of the organization’s websites. The Web designer will assist in designing the web page layout, determining technical requirements needed for improvements, provide updates to the websites, create backup files, monitoring SEO and all other website related tasks. This includes, but is not limited to, overall navigation flow, layout of specific pages, and creation of individual graphic elements and updating sites as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • WordPress theme and development implementation 
  • Familiar with domain hosting’s such as network solutions 
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS
  • Maintain/update current WordPress sites
  • Work and customize WordPress plugins 
  • Understanding of SEO current and best standards 
  • Experience with SSL
  • Ability to create visually appealing aesthetics 
  • Able to defend design decisions while remaining open to constructive feedback

Graphic Designer

The Graphic Designer is an independent contractor who will work with our Marketing and Fundraising Coordinator to create and design digital media content that can be used in all aspects of the organization. The Graphic Designer must understand graphic design and possess skills in a variety of multimedia software programs. The contractor must be able to work independently, as well as within a team, complete tasks timely and work within client print and brand specifications.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop designs and layouts for marketing communications needs including but not limited to: logos, flyers, web graphics, web design, brochures, signs, postcards, booklets, videos, and informational/educational material by using your creative strategies alongside established design rules and principles;
  • Offer new ideas/designs while staying within brand guidelines;
  • Be able to edit and implement photos for project outlines;
  • Organized, with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments; 
  • The contractor must be available to attend scheduled meetings at the San Marcos Campus in person as requested;
  • Completes other graphic design projects as assigned;

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of professional graphic design experience;

Marketing Support Staff (Unpaid Internship)

The Marketing Support Staff are a group interns who will work on campus with the Marketing & Fundraising Coordinator to maintain the BGCSCT presence on various social media platforms and help create and publish content that is relevant to its community. The Marketing Support Staff will also help to facilitate and complete the various duties/assignments within the Marketing Department which will include but is not limited to, graphic design, web design, photography, videography, fundraising support, content writing, events and community outreach.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate all social media accounts on all platforms;
  • Work to increase our followers and interactions;
  • Daily engagement with the community;
  • Organize and archive images and videos;
  • Assist with maintaining/updating the marketing folder;
  • Content update on our various websites;
  • Work with the marketing team to ensure the department is being effective;
  • Attend events to support the organizations marketing efforts;
  • Completes all other Marketing projects as assigned;

Qualifications:

  •  Experience in social media using all platforms;
  •  Ability to work independently and without supervision;
  • Must be able to work some nights and weekends;
