Fourth Grade Teacher
The person in this position will be required to teach primary student coursework based on the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). This teacher will serve as the homeroom teacher for 5th grade students and will teach such school values that are relevant to the fourth grade. The applicant must be able to apply knowledge of current education and instructional theories, methodologies, techniques, and principles.
Qualification: This position requires a valid Texas teaching certificate in the subject area. Candidate must meet the highly qualified teacher requirements per the No Child Left Behind Act. Candidates enrolled in a certification program are encouraged to apply.
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsement for subject and level assigned, or
- Bachelor’s degree with five or more years of industry experience relevant to teaching in the core subject area or
- 10 or more successful years of classroom experience as an Educational Aide with less than 15 college credits remaining towards degree completion in the field of education.
Major Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the school’s curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required.
- Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
- Help student analyze and improve study methods and habits with CREATIVE strategies.
- Create a UNIQUE classroom environment that fosters learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
- Establish and maintain open communication with parents, students, principal, teachers and support staff.
- Keep informed and comply with state and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.

Starting Annual Salary: $41,200.00

The Youth Development Professionals role is providing daily programs, services and activities for Pre-K aged students, which are consistent with the organization’s youth development mission and goals. Youth Development Professionals are primarily, but not exclusively, responsible for youth supervision, developing positive, productive relationships with students and overseeing the delivery of a broad range of programs at the Texas Preparatory School – Austin campus, such as Education, Social Recreation, Arts & Crafts, Sports-Fitness & Recreation and Healthy Lifestyles.
This person will work closely with the Pre-Kindergarten Teachers to plan & implement designated programs and activities that support Youth Development Outcomes for this age-group. The person will maintain Club program goals that insure the health and safety of members. The Youth Development Professional reports to the Site Coordinator.

The person will maintain Club program goals that insure the health and safety of members. The Art Instructor reports to the Site Coordinator.
