Substitute Teacher

This position requires the ability to complete training and apply knowledge to continue the current education and instructional theories, methods, techniques of subject matter for students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through 6 in the absence of the classroom teacher.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Implement provided lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the school’s curriculum program.
  • Maintain a classroom environment that fosters learning and is appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
  • Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
  • Maintain open communication with parents, students and staff.
  • Comply with state and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is preferred.
  • One or more years of successful classroom experience with students is preferred.
  • All candidates must assume the cost for and complete a successful fingerprinting check with human resources prior to starting employment.

Salary: $80.00 per day
Days: Monday through Friday
Hours: 7:30am – 4:00pm or as needed

Youth Development Professional: Early Learning

The Youth Development Professionals role is providing daily programs, services and activities for Pre-K aged students, which are consistent with the organization’s youth development mission and goals. Youth development Professionals are primarily, but not exclusively, responsible for youth supervision, developing positive, productive relationships with students and overseeing the delivery of a broad range of programs within the San Marcos Unit, such as Education, Social Recreation, Arts & Crafts, Sports-Fitness & Recreation and Healthy Lifestyles.

This person will work closely with the Early Learning Teachers to plan & implement designated programs and activities that support Youth Development Outcomes for this age-group. The person will maintain Club program goals that insure the health and safety of members. The Youth Development Professional reports to the Site Coordinator.

Desired Documented Work Experience in:

  • Communicating with parents, students, employees and others;
  • Telephone etiquette;
  • Related study or work experience field;
  • Class-room management;
  • Basic Computers;
  • Working with little supervision.

Qualifications:

  • Some College or currently enrolled in a related field of study;
  • Must be able to pass a background check;
    Have a clean driving record (Department of Public Safety);
  • Ability to adjust to new job responsibilities as assigned.

Days: Monday – Friday, occasional evenings and weekends.
Hours: 2:00pm-7:00pm
Salary range: $9.00 per hour.

Business Office Internship

We are seeking an energetic, responsible intern to join our growing organization. In this position, you will be expected to learn the ins-and-outs of our daily routines and procedures. You will focus on learning how our organization runs, and can be expected to gain valuable insight that can further their interest in your chosen career field.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform clerical duties, take memos, maintain files, create labels, and organize documents; photocopy, fax, etc. as needed
    Assist in preparing information and research materials
  • Sort and manage files
    Oversee mail deliveries, packages, and couriers
  • Run general related errands
  • Research and gather documentation
  • Shadow multiple office positions and train in a variety of tasks

Days: Monday – Friday, occasional evenings and weekends.
Hours: 8:00am – 2:00pm, Flexible
Salary range: $7.25 per hour (Seasonal), paid monthly.

After School Program Support Clerk (San Marcos Unit)

The Program Support Clerk will assist the BGCSCT Program Director & San Marcos Unit Site Coordinator in managing and maintaining pertinent member, program and operational data. The Program Support Clerk will also serve to occupy the front office at the San Marcos Unit and will be responsible for greeting members, parents, and visitors professionally daily. This person will compile, copy, sort, collect money, answer phones and communicate to the community. This position will report to the Site Coordinator.

Desired Documented Work Experience in:

• Operating office machines, such as photocopiers, scanners, facsimile machines, voicemail systems and personal computers;
• Maintaining and updating filing, inventory, mailing, and database systems, either manually or using a computer;
