3rd Grade Teacher

The person in this position will be required to teach primary student coursework based on the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).This teacher will serve as the homeroom teacher for 3rd grade students and will teach such school values that are relevant to the third grade.The applicant must be able to apply knowledge of current education and instructional theories, methodologies, techniques, and principles.

Qualification: This position requires a valid Texas teaching certificate in the subject area.Candidate must meet the highly qualified teacher requirements per the No Child Left Behind Act.Candidates enrolled in a certification program are encouraged to apply.

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsement for subject and level assigned, or
  • Bachelor’s degree with five or more years of industry experience relevant to teaching in the core subject area or
  • 10 or more successful years of classroom experience as an Educational Aide with less than 15 college credits remaining towards degree completion in the field of education.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the school’s curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required.

  • Help student analyze and improve study methods and habits with CREATIVE strategies.

Substitute Teacher

This position requires the ability to complete training and apply knowledge to continue the current education and instructional theories, methods, techniques of subject matter for students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through 6 in the absence of the classroom teacher.

Social Media Coordinator

Boys & Girls Clubs of South Central Texas (BGCSCT) is a non-profit organization seeking a talented individual who craves learning new skills and isn’t afraid to tackle big projects.  As the Social Media Coordinator you will play an active role in the development of the BGCSCT online community.

The Social Media Coordinator will maintain BGCSCT presence on various social media platforms and help create and publish content that is relevant to our community. He/she will regularly analyze and report on the activity on social media networks as well as our various websites.

He/she will also assist in maintaining BGCSCT archive of digital images, videos, and other content. The Social Media Coordinator will learn how to reach communities, and promote events or programs through the internet and gain experience in social media platforms and the tools used to assess their performance.

Duties and Responsibilities

Social Media

  • Updates Facebook, YouTube, Snapchat, Instagram and Twitter accounts.
  • Responds to posts or comments to bring value to user’s interactions with the organizations different social media sites.
  • Posts updates, news and announcements in a timely manner using appropriate content.
  • Performs research to find articles, stories, resources, or other content that is relevant to our community to post it to all platforms in a manner that invites conversation and interaction.
  • Updates social media accounts with current and relevant photos, video, or other content from BGCSCT activities and events.
  • Grows BGCSCT online social networks by increasing fan-base and interactions.
  • Completes other social media projects as assigned

Digital Media:

  • Takes pictures and videos of events and develop into content for the BGCSCT websites and social media pages.
  • Uploads BGCSCT photos and videos to the appropriate server.
  • Organizes and archives digital images and videos.

Requirements:

  • Creative self-starter who is comfortable with both taking initiative and working in collaboration.

Graphic Designer

The Graphic Designer is a contractor who will work with our Marketing Operations Team to create and design digital media content that can be used in all aspects of the organization. The Graphic Designer must understand graphic design and possess skills in a variety of multimedia software programs. The contractor must be able to work independently, as well as within a team, complete tasks timely and work within client print and brand specifications.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop designs and layouts for other marketing communications needs including but not limited to: logos, flyers, web graphics, web design, brochures, signs, postcards, booklets, videos, and informational and educational material by using your creative strategies alongside established design rules and principles.
  • Be able to edit and implement photos for project outlines.
  • Work closely with the Marketing Operations team to meet project deadlines.

Youth Development Professional: Early Learning

The Youth Development Professionals role is providing daily programs, services and activities for Pre-K aged students, which are consistent with the organization’s youth development mission and goals. Youth development Professionals are primarily, but not exclusively, responsible for youth supervision, developing positive, productive relationships with students and overseeing the delivery of a broad range of programs within the San Marcos Unit, such as Education, Social Recreation, Arts & Crafts, Sports-Fitness & Recreation and Healthy Lifestyles.

Transportation Services – Bus Driver

The Transportation Services Bus Driver; provides safe and efficient transportation services to BGCSCT Club members and Texas Preparatory School students. A successful applicant will have a high school diploma or equivalent, current CDL license with passenger endorsement, clean driving record, and experience operating a school bus. This position works 25 hours per week with occasional field trips, evenings and weekends as needed. This person obeys all State and Federal Traffic regulations and laws, uses effective defensive driving techniques, attends and completes all required training to obtain & maintain safety and driver certification.

Education/Certification

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent;
  • Knowledge of routes; Ability to interpret schedules, forms and maps;
  • Must be able to pass a background check;
  • Must be able to pass drug testing procedures;

Day Custodian

This position requires the maintaining of an attractive, sanitary and safe facility for students, staff and public; providing equipment and furniture arrangements for meetings, classroom activities and events; and minimizing property damage, loss and facility structure.

Position requires ability to perform multiple, not-technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skills required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operating equipment used in industrial maintenance including electrical cleaning equipment, common tools, landscaping equipment, etc.; and adhering to safety practices. The Day Custodian reports to Director of Programs & Operations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or its equivalent;
